The news that one of Nigerian Socialite and internet fraudster Hushpuppi a.k.a Mr Raymond or Ramoni Igbalode being on extradition to Nigeria from United Arab Emirates, as seen on the front page of The Nation newspaper published on Saturday June 13, 2020 have been debunked by EFFC's chairman Mr. Magu and Nigerian controversial Journalist Kemi Olunloyo. She called out The nation Newspaper for publishing "Fake news about Hushpuppi's extradition to Nigerian soil".

She acclaimed that Hushpuppi, Efe, Woodberry, Tony Roma, Pac, Sean the Escaper have successfully landed on American soil for further questionings and prosecutions under the flagship of FBI and United States Secret service and have been detained in a Federal Facility.
Mr Magu while addressing the issue, indicated that EFFC is yet to be involved in Mr Ramoni's fraud cases. He also addressed the incumbent increase in fraud cases across the country and vindictive measures taken.
He said "we are yet to be involved in the case of Hushpuppi, but if they happen to give us the details, we would assist". He further explained that the commission is not just about arresting and prosecuting internet fraudsters but also involved in rehabilitating the suspects.
