The Nigerian singer and Lagos born businessman and songwriter Azeez Fashola also known as Naira Marley having declared himself as the president of the Marlian nation (Marlians) at his concert in Lagos 2019. Following his release from prison, on 27 June 2019, being an ex-convict Azeez went further to release the song titled "Am I a Yahoo boy" the video release of this same song in 3 May 2019 brought him handcuffed into the hands of the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and was therefore arraigned before the jury in Ikoyi, Lagos with 11 counts of fraudulent act. Azeez remained in EFCC's custody for months before he was granted 2,000,000 bail and was later freed. Yesterday, 30 May 2020 the self-acclaimed president of the Marlian nation, and a host of other Nigerian celebrities took to the social media to celebrate "Marliansday" across the country.
